FARIN

Caroline Angorine, songwriter, producer, and vocalist in FARIN, describes the band as a living art project with an outlet for her creative ideas. She grew up on Tromøy in Southern Norway, surrounded by forests and the sea. As a child, she spent a lot of time alone in nature, and it was in these surroundings that she was inspired to sew, paint, and write songs. The music is often created in parallel with Caroline's own paintings, where lines laid down on canvas carry sounds, emotions, and rhythms. FARIN's music was mostly performed for moss, flowers, and toads, locked inside books and resting on cassettes until 2019 when Caroline moved to England with Niklas Mæle Gjeisklid (guitarist and co-composer in FARIN) to study music at the Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts (LIPA). In England, the music was performed as a quintet until they returned home to the forest and snow in the spring of 2022. After returning, Torbjørn Eriksen took his place behind the drum kit, and bassist Henrik Bakka tuned the guitar. During the summer and fall, they performed at festivals like Spornes and Arendal Jazz Club. FARIN released their first video EP, "The Bakery," in the fall of 2022. The music balances between jazz, rock, pop, and R&B.
