Music Education: What Future Competence Do We Need
New digital transformations require new competences to fully take advantage of the potentials that lie in digital innovations. Never before have musicians and artists had so many opportunities to create, distribute and market their music. However, these digital opportunities also often require specialized expertise and competences. A question then becomes how music education is adjusting its teaching and programs to best prepare its students for their future job market. Together with CreaTeME (University of Agder’s Center for Excellence in Creative use of Technology in Music Education) and Sørveiv, this panel explores the new needs for flexible and responsible music education. The panel consists of Professor Daniel Nordgård (UiA and CreaTeME), Jonas Bjälesjö, Stine Mari Røverdatter and Dan Galen Hodges. The panel will be dialogue-based and very much inclusive of the audience to take part. CreaTeME: https://createme.uia.no/
