MÍO

MÍO has established itself as one of the underground's greatest live experiences. With an energetic show and a raw front vocalist with an enormous vocal range that grabs the listener and refuses to let go, the folk rock group has impressed audiences all over the country and at festivals such as Midgardsblot and Telemarkfestivalen. The band has created a unique and fresh take on folk rock – which they like to call "Folk 'n' Roll." MÍO draws rich inspiration from both Norwegian rock and punk, as well as Norwegian folk music. The fuzzy fiddle play and enchanting vocals are combined with a large arsenal of folk instruments, a jazz-inspired rhythm section, melodic bass, and expressive guitar. Hard-hitting - without losing balance with its dynamic aspects. The Oslo-based band made their album debut with "Ingen tid å miste" in the summer of 2023, to great acclaim and positive reviews. The music was described as, among other things, "restless folk rock from and for a chaotic world, with virtuoso details and an approach to the rawness in the musical source material that breaks all boundaries!" by Dagsavisen's music critic Mode Steinkjer. MÍO's musical world and their live performances can be called a "phenomenon," putting the band on the map as one of Norway's most exciting and promising up-and-coming bands.
